American Football wild card matches free planet

as the annual corporate distraction known as the American Football season draws to a close, what did I find on Channel 5 here in UK this saturday morning? The wild card matches. Now, American Football (for me) is overlong and overhyped, a major corporate money-making independent-thought-masking distraction, a blindingly incongruous national industry of the banal.

FIVE (of FIVER, if you're funky) shows the edited highlights and I WAS IN AWE at the athleticism of the game, having not seen it since Channel 4 broadcast it back in the day. The highlights format really is (for me) the best way to watch American Football ... though (having attended plenty of rugby league games in my youth) I understand COMPLETELY the allure of attending a real game at a capacity 100,000 seater stadium.

So, what's this post really about?

You suspect an ulterior motive? Well, sorta, but not intentionally. I was sat there watching the NFL wild card games, giving a basic outline of what was what on screen to my girl, and the thought, "How would American Football be different if it was stripped of all its corporate angle?"

And it took me back to the basics of FREE PLANET. What are we doing ON this planet? What are we doing TO this planet?

On FREE PLANET we sort out the way we interact with the place where we live, and the planet (and its position in the solar system) does the rest. We sort out THE BASICS first. Population-size-wise, one of the great conspiracies is THE BIBLE and it's call to "go forth and multiply" which might in itself have been a misinterpretation of the term 'go forth and multiply the believers'. So, what is the optimum family size for FREE PLANET?

First, we have to look at what FREE PLANET does for the family. Do we need to bear loads of babies in case of illness? No. Do we need to breed like rabbits because some book told us to? No. What we really need is a BRAND NEW MORAL OUTLOOK where each and every person is here on the planet so that the planet can thrive and support its populace. Surely, you realise that? Every person has to CONTRIBUTE his living energy to the planet and its upkeep.

I don't necessarily mean their sweat and blood (out in the fields in a slavery sense of hard labour for some ruling elite), I'm also talking about the stuff inside their heads, their inate creativity and problem solving acumen.

Where does this fit into American Football? Well, isn't it obvious? Instead of putting all that effort into selling the public on some insane specialised-human ideal, we could put all those advertisers and marketers into thinking up better ways to feed, water and clothe our nomadic race.

Nomadic?

Well, this is another obvious concept of FREE PLANET. No borders. No coutries. No governments. No surveillance state. We all belong to the planet. We are all responsible for its prosperity - and by this I mean "fuck your blinkered corporate ideal of 'bottom line'". Seriously, though you think capitalism (or your version of it) is doing a good thing, you're wrong. And the auto-communist hecklers can fuck off as well. Both capitalism and communism (despite supposed regulatory controls) always devolve into FEUDALISM and ROYAL STATUS being cited. Both idealogies give birth to maniacs and tyrants. Both doctrines deflect real creativity from FREE PLANET onto me, me, me.

And if any Global Elite think tanks are reading this assuming I'm suddenly ripe for recruitment to the dark side, go fuck yourselves too. I don't subscribe to your feudal view of humanity with several kings lording it over dumbed-down serfs. Show me what inalienable, god-given, sovereign right any party has to claim he OWNS any part of OUR PLANET.

Anyway, strip the world of (covert) corporate influence and would you still have events like American Football? Why not. People love to gather together to compete against their peers, the Olympics prove that. But what form would corporate-stripped sport take? These are all questions the next decade will have to face as we move towards FREE PLANET.
